America is spending billions on war and elections while too many struggle to afford to eat

People all over the world are suffering, rioting, and killing people, and many Americans cannot afford the cost of food and gas after losing their health insurance. Yet The New York Times reports that America has spent more than $40 billion on the war in Iran while OpenSecrets projects $12 billion in midterm election spending this year. Just think the difference that amount of money could make in helping people in America be able to enjoy a normal, affordable life instead of worrying every waking moment how their families will survive. What have we done to this world?
