Experts release final Ohio State-USC predictions: Can Luke Fahey keep the Buckeyes rolling without Julian Sayin? — Mentor Sports news

Ohio State’s biggest test since its trip to Bloomington comes with a backup quarterback. Julian Sayin, who had 2,007 passing yards and 19 touchdowns at the time of his injury, hurt his throwing arm in the Buckeyes’ 19-15 win at then-No. 5 Indiana on Oct. 17 and has been ruled out. “We’re not gonna put any timeline on his recovery, but he is out indefinitely,” Ryan Day said. Day hasn’t officially named a starter, but freshman Luke Fahey, who replaced Sayin in Bloomington, is reportedly the favorite over five-star Tavien St. Clair. No. 2 Ohio State (6-1, 4-0 Big Ten) is coming off a bye and has plenty of help around its new quarterback, led by Jeremiah Smith, who is averaging 140.6 receiving yards per game.
